Another Nintendo Online Shambles

I was excited to recieve an email from Nintendo UK today explainig in their words that this was the “news that our most loyal members have been waiting for”, its now finally possible to exchange Club Nintendo Star Points for Wii Points.
So, I excitedly loaded up my web browser and proceeded to load up the club Nintendo Site…only to be hit by an erroneous Apache webserver error. After 5 mins of trying the page finally loaded up, I logged in and followed the directions to the Wii Points shop.

Broken Wii Sensor Bar!

Well I turned on my Wii the otherday, I was going to have a quick go on Warioware Smoothe Moves with my eldest Daughter, its her favorite. Anyway, I turned it on, pressed A to continue as it asks everytime, then got to the Wii Channels screen.
For some reason there was no pointer on the screen, i looked at the sensor bar and thought “A ha!”, the  sensor bar has slipped back under the TV. I pulled it out and tried again, no cigar. I checked the sensor bar was plugged in, which it was, Ithen began to trace the cable…
To my horror the cable had been sheared in half! I think the kids rabbit had been down there and had a little nibble!
Rather than panicking, i got my tool kit out stripped the cable and tried just twisting the cores back together, it didnt work so i searched the net and came up with this. It explained that the cores are coated to insulate them that to remove it u just heat each bare bit with a lighter. I did this and it worked perfectly. I then got out the soldering iron, soldered the cables back together and voila, good as new, well almost. ;)
